Local guides from the Imlil valley # About us We are a team of licensed mountain guides, muleteers and cooks based in Imlil, the village at the foot of Jbel Toubkal where every ascent begins. ## Who we are Toubkal Trekking Experts is based in Imlil, at 1,740 m, where the road from Marrakesh ends and the mule paths to Toubkal begin. Our guides are from the valleys around the mountain: they know the trails, the villages and the families who live along them, and they know how quickly the weather can change on the high slopes. We are not a booking platform. When you write to us, you talk to the people who plan your trek, and when you arrive, you walk with them. That is why travellers so often mention our guides by name in their reviews. ## How we work Every trek is led by an officially licensed mountain guide, as the law requires in the Toubkal area. We set the pace by the slowest walker, check the weather before every summit day and turn around when the mountain says no. Coming home safely is always the goal.
