Erg Chebbi, by the village of Merzouga, is the biggest field of sand dunes in Morocco, with dunes that rise up to about 150 metres. Getting there from Marrakesh is a journey in itself: over the Tizi n'Tichka pass in the High Atlas, past the earth-built ksar of Aït Benhaddou, through the Dadès valley and the Todra gorge, and out to the edge of the Sahara.

Every tour includes a private driver, a camel ride into the dunes at sunset and a night at a desert camp. Choose the 3‑day loop, the slower 4‑day version, or a one-way trip that ends in Fes.
